Diabetes Management
Diabetes Management
Diabetes Management With correct diagnosis, appropriate treatment and basic information, people with diabetes can lead full, happy and productive lives. Our certified training program helps people with diabetes manage their disease. The class consists of a one-hour, one-on-one assessment followed by four two-hour sessions. These classes are taught in the evenings on Mondays and in the mornings on Wednesdays. Topics include eye care, blood glucose monitoring, exercise, sexual dysfunction, hypertension, medications, meal planning, stress management, acute and chronic complications, foot care and assessment, carbohydrate counting, lipid goals and dental care. We encourage patients to bring a family member, significant other or a friend with you to the meetings for support.
Because this program is certified by the American Diabetes Association, participants may seek reimbursement from insurers for the cost.
