What is wellness?
What is wellness? It's about taking charge of your health. Don't wait until you are sick to see your doctor; see him or her at least once a year when you are well. Discuss any screenings that are appropriate based on your age and family history.
People often have routines established to maintain their teeth - dental visits twice a year - vision checks, hair appointments. Most follow regular preventive maintenance schedules on their cars, lawn mowers and other items. When was the last time you considered preventive maintenance on your health? That's what practicing wellness is about. It's getting regular checkups, taking advantage of lifesaving screenings such as heart and lung scans, colon cancer screenings and others. It's about knowing your cholesterol and blood pressure numbers and checking them regularly.
If you don't have a regular doctor, Reid can help you find one. If you do, make a well check part of your annual calendar.
